What Training Group Should I Join?

The training group you should join depends on what your goals are for the year.

- If you're a sprinter or middle distance runner, join Martin Cook's Group. They train at the indoor and outdoor tracks, aiming for BUCS Indoors Championships (that we host in Sheffield) and BUCS Outdoors.

- If you run over 1500m, join Sammy Rashid's group. They train for Cross Country and Road Races, aiming for BUCS Cross Country.

​

- If you usually run XC in winter and track in summer and are in two minds, it is a case-by-case decision. Martin's group is more speed based and tailored to up to 800 athletes who would choose the Indoor season over XC, whereas Sammy's focusses on endurance. Message us on Instagram if you have any questions about this!

- Field athletes train with independent coaches at the local track. Contact us on instagram if you are interested in joining a group and we'll put you in touch with our Field Representative Bill Steel!

- If you're picking up running socially, come give our group runs a try! We run 5k and 10k groups (at a variety of paces) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
